Central Facility Biooptics Light Microscopy (MFPL)
USAGE CONDITIONS:
In the context of the Vienna Life Science Instruments (VLSI) initiative the MFPL Central Facility Biooptics-Light Microscopy offers services (for details see below) to external candidates ONLY after prior consultation of the head of the facility (see below).
Usage for VLSI members is generally open to conditions for internal MFPL users, but may become restricted by:
- Available capacities for training
- Available capacities of instrument usage
- An existing scientific cooperation agreement
SERVICES:
- Preliminary evaluation of your experimental plan:
- Selection of optimal microscope system
- Discussion and advice on sample preparation
- Evaluation of fluorophore selections
- Experimental plan optimization
- Optionally: pilot experiments
- Optionally: scripting to generate delicate/intricate/special workflows - Training of users
- Introductory Lecture on Biooptics
- Laser Safety Introduction
- Two-step training sessions at selected instrumentation (mandatory for self-contained usage)
- Optional: “assisted use” sessions = imaging done by facility personnel - Troubleshooting on demand
- Image Processing: only after individual arrangements
- Image Analysis: only after individual arrangements; scripting service possible
- We are NOT offering any “give off sample and have it imaged”-service
